The NPSBCET IDEA Lab is a dedicated innovation and prototyping ecosystem established at New Prince Shri Bhavani College of Engineering and Technology (NPSBCET) in the year 2024, to promote creativity, experiential learning, and technology-driven problem solving. The lab serves as a common facility that enables students and faculty from various disciplines to ideate, design, prototype, and validate innovative solutions addressing real-world challenges. By integrating academic knowledge with hands-on experimentation, the IDEA Lab acts as a catalyst for innovation, research, entrepreneurship, and industry collaboration within the institution.
From the perspective of NPSBCET, the IDEA Lab is envisioned as a strategic initiative to nurture a culture of innovation, experiential learning, and interdisciplinary collaboration within the institution. It aims to empower students and faculty to translate theoretical knowledge into practical solutions, foster entrepreneurial thinking, and contribute meaningfully to societal and industrial needs through creativity-driven research and innovation.

The NPSBCET IDEA Lab has been established with the support and financial assistance of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) under the AICTE IDEA (Idea Development, Evaluation & Application) Lab Scheme. The sanction was granted on 25th April 2025 with the objective of strengthening innovation culture and providing advanced prototyping facilities in technical institutions. The lab is equipped with modern tools, equipment, and resources as per AICTE guidelines to facilitate design, fabrication, and experimentation activities.
The NPSBCET IDEA Lab was formally inaugurated on 7th May 2025, following the receipt of sanction from AICTE. The inauguration ceremony marked a significant milestone in the institution’s commitment to innovation and experiential education. The event was graced by the presence of the college management, Dr. L. Naveen Prasad, Vice Chairman, Dr. T. Saravanan, Principal, Prof. A. Swaminathan, Director, Dean (Academics), Controller of Examinations, faculty members, students, and invited dignitaries. The inauguration highlighted the institution’s vision of fostering innovation-driven learning and industry-ready graduates.
