About YRC

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) is a voluntary humanitarian organisation that promotes health, service, and friendship among students. It aims to develop social responsibility, leadership qualities, and a spirit of volunteerism while encouraging students to participate in community welfare activities.

The YRC unit of New Prince Shri Bhavani College of Engineering and Technology (NPSBCET) actively organises health awareness programmes, blood donation camps, first aid training, environmental initiatives, disaster preparedness activities, and community outreach programmes. Through these activities, students are encouraged to serve society and contribute to the well-being of the community.

Vision

To build a compassionate, socially responsible, and health-conscious network of young volunteers who are trained, empowered, and ready to lead humanitarian efforts and respond effectively to the needs of society.

Mission

To inspire, encourage, and initiate youth-led humanitarian actions that prevent and alleviate human suffering. YRC aims to cultivate the spirit of volunteerism, civic responsibility, and service without discrimination based on nationality, race, gender, religion, or social background.

Objectives

1. Protection of Health and Life

  • Promote health awareness among students and the community.

  • Provide training in first aid, CPR, and disaster management.

  • Create awareness on blood donation, organ donation, hygiene, sanitation, and public health issues.

2. Service to the Sick and Suffering

  • Encourage students to participate in humanitarian and community service activities.

  • Support relief and rehabilitation efforts during emergencies and natural disasters.

  • Assist vulnerable sections of society through welfare and outreach programmes.

3. Promotion of Friendship and Peace

  • Foster mutual respect, unity, and social harmony among students.

  • Promote national integration and cultural understanding.

  • Encourage friendship, cooperation, and peace through humanitarian values.
