The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, established in 2008, has emerged as a centre of excellence, imparting in-depth technical knowledge while fostering innovation and research through state-of-the-art computing facilities. The department is equipped with the latest hardware and software, enabling students to gain extensive hands-on experience in software design, coding, testing, deployment, and overall programming proficiency.

A team of highly qualified and experienced faculty members from reputed institutions form the backbone of the department. Their expertise spans diverse domains including Machine Learning, Databases, Artificial Intelligence, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Compiler Design, Web Technology, Cryptography, and Computer Networks.

The department actively promotes academic excellence and research by providing ample opportunities and resources for both faculty and students. Many faculty members have contributed significantly to the field through publications in reputed journals, conference proceedings, and scholarly articles, thereby strengthening the department’s reputation as a hub of knowledge creation and dissemination.

Over the years, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering has produced many brilliant graduates who have secured prestigious positions both in India and abroad. Faculty members consistently encourage students to undertake projects in emerging research areas, thereby enhancing their knowledge of advanced topics. NPSBCET takes pride in its excellent placement record, with the CSE department leading in terms of successful placements.

Looking ahead, the department’s research initiatives are focused on cutting-edge domains such as Machine Learning, Cryptography and Information Extraction, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Image Processing and Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, Data and Web Mining, Semantic Web, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Data Analytics.

Beyond classroom teaching and laboratory work, students are motivated through creative activities, cultural fests, group learning sessions, and seminars. They are also encouraged to present term papers individually, fostering confidence and independent thinking. Emphasis is placed on computer-based assignments involving modeling and simulation, ensuring practical application of theoretical concepts.

Welcome to the Department of B.E. Computer Science and Engineering at NPSBCET.

Our department is committed to developing competent and socially responsible computing Dr.P.B.Edwin Prabhakar Professor & Head professionals. We focus on building strong problem-solving skills and preparing students to design and develop modern hardware and software systems through an advanced and industry-oriented curriculum.

Established in 2008, the department continuously adapts to rapid technological changes and provides students the flexibility to shape their careers based on their interests. We offer B.E. Computer Science and Engineering along with Minor Degree programs in Full Stack Development.

Our experienced faculty specialize in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, IoT, Cyber Security, Computer Vision, and Full Stack Development. We support students through strong mentoring, modern laboratories, industry collaborations, and participation in hackathons, conferences, and professional bodies like IEEE, CSI, and ISTE.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

Within three to five years, our graduates of the Computer Science and Engineering  program are expected to:

PEO1:  Shall get employed in National and Global Industries or continue their higher education at prestigious institutions.

PEO2:  Shall function as an effective team member in the professional practice, shall exhibit leadership abilities, professional ethics, communication skills, and interpersonal skills.

PEO3:  Shall utilize basic competencies in problem solving, analysis, synthesis, and innovation who shall contribute to the advancement of their society and the Nation.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)

PO 1: Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO 2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences,  and engineering sciences.

PO 3: Design/development of solutions:  Design  solutions  for complex engineering problems and design systems

components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO 4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods, including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO 5: Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering limitations.

PO 6: The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO 7: Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for, sustainable development.

PO 8: Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO  9: Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams,  and in multidisciplinary settings.

PO10: Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

PO11: Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

PO12: Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.
