IIRS is a key player for training and capacity building in geospatial technology and its applications through training, education and research in Southeast Asia. The training, education and capacity building programmes of the Institute are designed to meet the requirements of Professionals at working levels, fresh graduates, researchers, academia, and decision makers. The faculty members are encouraged to undergo online courses from IIRS under the topics of various advanced societal, social and spatial performances for inducing and improving ecosystem.

The faculty members are encouraged to participate in short term courses, faculty development programs and workshops on advanced topics to keep themselves updated. This also includes demonstration method with a well-directed discussion which is a successful teaching technique.

NPTEL video Lectures are available in the library where the students can access to Learning materials at any time. From this website, students can download their course materials.

Guest lectures help students to improve their learning in a more effective way. Guest Lectures are conducted by inviting eminent persons from Industry and Academics. It is helpful for the students to learn new concepts and Techniques.

Alumni students are invited for technical discussion and interact with the students. Alumni Technical Talk is a regularly organized event which invites prominent Alumni of this college to share the stage briefing on their area of specialization, expertise, and opportunities for internships, and also placement openings for students who avails them.

Remedial /backlog classes are conducted for slow learners to improve the learning skills of the student. Remedial classes for slow learners are conducted by giving a personal attention for the students, Motivating the students, Helping the students maintain focus, creating a sense of community, making discussions meaningful, increasing student engagement, Address equity issues, Identifying and supporting the students. The teacher explains also concepts in easy way to learn quickly for struggling students.

A webinar is an engaging online event where a speaker or small group of speakers, deliver a presentation to a large audience who participate by submitting questions, responding to polls and using other available interactive tools. It is a video workshop, lecture, or presentation hosted online using webinar software by foreign and eminent professors. Often business-related, these sessions can be used to share knowledge, ideas, and updates with students.

Student Seminars and workshops are conducted which improves their communication and learning skills. Seminars and workshops provide a chance to interact with the experts from the specific field. Discussing about the relevant topics of the particular subject, students tend to learn about the latest information and new skills related to the concerned subject.

A library is a collection of materials, books or media that are easily accessible for use. The primary purpose of the public library is to provide resources and services in a variety of media to meet the needs of individuals and groups for education, information and personal development. The biggest resource of self learning is our institute library which consists of numerous books by eminent national and international authors on various topics.

Faculty members and students undergo online courses from the sources like Coursera, Edx, NPTEL, ICT learnathon etc. in their area of interest. This helps them to enrich their knowledge on current trends. Online courses allow students to progress in their understanding of a certain topic. It consists basically on a specific curriculum, or study plan, organized in units. Online courses can include videos, images, text and hyperlinks. We can share them easily with a link or send an invitation through email to the students. Online learning is more effective option for students to learn in their convenient time

Google Class Room (GCR) is mainly used for Setting Classroom themes with logo, Reusing the assignments, tests or other course content in future classes. We have uploaded training methods, teaching aids, tools, PPT presentation, case studies and manuals in our google classroom which can develop the students’ self-learning skills
